1814 Statistical Account
No. IX. Parish of CLONMANY,
(Diocese of Derry, and County of Donegal.)
By the Rev. F. L. Molloy.
The people here usually carry on trade in Derry and the neighbouring markets: they sell their webs, butter, oil, and kelp, in Derry; and they sell their barley, oats, potatoes, yarn, and flax, in Carndonagh, Malin, and Buncrana. There is no way of ascertaining the precise quantities they sell in those places; but this I will venture to assert, that they sell, in a dear year, upwards of £15OO worth of potatoes.
