Placenames Lagahurry is a rectangular shaped townland with one side projecting onto the sea. It has many cliffs, sea rocks, ports and sandhills. Two thirds of the land is arable and the remainder is rough sandhill grazing. It consists of three villages or parts; Lagacurry; Claragh; Balllindavoe. One fifth of the land is sand and increasing.
