Placenames Mindoran was once part of a townland known as Doonally pre ordinance survey. It is an irregular shaped townland and is home to two large lakes. One eighth of the land is arable and the rest is rough mountain grazing or bog. It consists of three villages or parts; Meendoran Lower; Meendoran Upper and Laganass (Lag an easa).
