Together they will sing and explain the Ulster song tradition in Irish and English in all its diversity and inclusivity. 3.30pm Passing it on with Liz Doherty and Dinny McLaughlin. Dinny will talk with Liz Doherty about his teaching around Inishowen, his own teacher, the late Pat Mulhern, and the local music tradition. 9.00pm Ceili with The Clonmany Ceili Band. |

2.15pm Instrument Making with Paul Doyle. A discussion on how to make fiddles and other instruments. 3.30pm The Inishowen Song Tradition by Breda McKinney. In Inishowen’s history, traditional song was part of occasions and celebrations that were, and continue to be, integral events in the social fabric of the peninsula. This talk will present the song tradition in Inishowen in its social contexts, and will discuss the association of songs with individuals, families and members of the community. 7.00pm Reminiscences of Big Nights. Stories, memories, music, song and dance around the hearth. At the Isle Of Doagh Famine Village. |
