Thursday 24th June

7.30pm Patrick Kavanagh Memorial Lecture with Dr. Mícheál Ó Suilleabháin "The Northern Voice – A Musical Perspective”

8.30pm Opening of Art Exhibition by Tom Kenny of Kenny’s Art Gallery and Bookshop, Galway 

8.45pm Concert with Mícheál Ó Suilleabháin, Mel Mercier, The Oriel Ensemble and featuring local singers, musicians and dancers.

Friday 25th June

12.00-1.30pm Workshops in Fiddle, Singing and Dance

2.00pm Launch of "It’s Us They’re Talking About" (Vol. 6): Proceedings of the 6th McGlinchey Summer School by Liam Campbell

2.15pm The Ulster Song Tradition by Len Graham and Paidrigín hUallacháin.  Together they will sing and explain the Ulster song tradition in Irish and English in all its diversity and inclusivity.

3.30pm Passing it on with Liz Doherty and Dinny McLaughlin.  Dinny will talk with Liz Doherty about his teaching around Inishowen, his own teacher, the late Pat Mulhern, and the local music tradition.

9.00pm Ceili with The Clonmany Ceili Band.

Saturday 26th June

8.00am McGlinchey Summer School Golf Classic in Ballyliffen Golf Club. 
Presentation of prizes in the Golf Club at 9pm.

11.00am The Life and Music of John Donovan by Jim Toland.
Memories and recordings of this popular singer from Malin Head.  The talk will explore the development of John Donovan against the background of his times.

12.15pm Repertoire in Donegal Fiddle Playing by Damhnait Sweeney
A look at the tunes and the styles of playing them that makes Donegal fiddle music a world-renowned tradition 

2.30pm Fieldtrip: "A Donegal Soundscape" by John Conaghan 
The flora, fauna and birdlife of the Inishowen peninsula. Bus leaves from Community Center.

8.30pm Concert of Traditional Music and Song featuring Derek Williamson, Grace Toland, Róisín White, Finbarr Doherty and Fiddlesticks.

Sunday 27th June

2.15pm   Instrument Making with Paul Doyle.  A discussion on how to make fiddles and other instruments.

3.30pm The Inishowen Song Tradition by Breda McKinney. In Inishowen’s history, traditional song was part of occasions and celebrations that were, and continue to be, integral events in the social fabric of the peninsula. This talk will present the song tradition in Inishowen in its social contexts, and will discuss the association of songs with individuals, families and members of the community.

7.00pm Reminiscences of Big Nights.  Stories, memories, music, song and dance around the hearth. At the Isle Of Doagh Famine Village.

Ephemera and photographs from the days of the Clonmany Ceili Band.
