Pope's Intentions for October: That young married couples may be sustained by the example and assistance of their parents and other families. That a new awareness of the universal co-responsibility of bishops may help to develop greater co-operation among the local Churches.
National Children's Day of Prayer: To celebrate the great Jubilee 2000 there will be Mass in St. Mary's Church, Clonmany at 10am. next Sat. Oct. 7 for all children of the parish and their parents.
Visitation of the sick: Fr. Devlin will attend his sick on Sat. (Oct. 7) of this week.
Collections: Parish collection last weekend amounted to £1,250. Church Restoration Fund amounted to £1,155. Thank you for your generosity.
Baptisms: We welcome into God's family Denis Ambrose Friel, Cross; Cormac John Gill, Gortfad; Laura Jane Campbell, Glebe and Mary Theresa McLaughlin, Clara.
Annual Church Gate Collection for Motor Nuerone Disease will be taken up after all Masses next weekend Oct. 7 & 8. Please give as generously as you can.
Carmelite Retreat Centre: Blessing of Roses in honour of St. Therese of Lisieux, Sun. Oct. 1 at 8pm. Please bring a rose.
Monthly devotions on Tues. Oct. 3 at 8pm. All welcome.
Parochial Bingo: in St. Mary's Hall on Friday night at 9pm. Snowball £1,000 on 48 numbers or less. Your support at the parochial bingo is very much appreciated.
Inishowen Pioneer Association: Annual Dinner Dance in The Ballyliffin Hotel on Fri. Oct. 20. Tickets now available from committee members.
Urris Parents Association: Annual General Meeting will take place in the Boys school on Thurs. Oct. 5 at 7:30pm. All parents are asked to attend.
Tidy Towns 2000: Congratulations to everyone who made an effort to maintain and provide our village in Ballyliffin for the above competition. You will be pleased to know that we received a total mark of 183, against 172 last year. It is not good enough to beat Malin but we will definitely be trying again next year! Clan Clonmany: Flower arranging course will take place in the Day Centre on Tues. Oct. 17 at 8pm. and in the Strand Hotel on Wed. Oct. 18 at 10:30am. For further details contact any member of Clan Clonmany or tel. 76636 / 76193.
Marriage Encounter Weekends - Drummond Hotel, Ballykelly, Oct. 13 - 15 and Lake Hotel, Killarney, Nov. 3 - 5.
