Pope's Intentions for November: That politicians and economists may feel it their duty to attend to the welfare of all people, giving first place to the most poverty-stricken. That reflection on the missionary role of Religious Institutes may foster growth of genuine vocations to the consecrated life. Saints of the week: Wednesday: Feast of All Saints. Months Mind Masses: 8pm. Mass in St. Mary's Church, on Thurs. Nov. 2 will be offered for Gerry Gibbons, Minahaw and 8pm. Mass in St. Mary's Church on Fri. Nov. 3 will be offered for Cassie Harkin, Binion on their Months Mind. May they rest in peace. Visitation of the Sick: Fr. Farrell and Fr. Devlin will attend their sick on Friday of this week. Collections: Parish collection last weekend amounted to £1,225. Church Restoration Fund amounted to £1,123. Collection for the Missions amounted to £712. Thank you for your generosity to all three collections. Annual collection for the Church Bulletin will be taken up on Wed. Nov. 1. (Envelope enclosed in your box.) October Station Masses: Fr. Farrell and Fr. Devlin would like to thank all those who hosted the October Station Masses for your hospitality and kindness. November is the month of the Holy Souls. We remember those who have died, and pray for the happy repose of their souls. There is great comfort for each of us in the knowledge that the dead are remembered especially at this time. We pray, too, for the souls who have nobody left to pray for them, and ask God to show his mercy to one and all. Fundraising: Ticket sellers will be going door to door this week fundraising on behalf of the Irish Kidney Association for Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. Please give your support. Parents: Due to the fact that fireworks have been in evidence in our community lately this appeal goes out to parents to impress upon young people the danger involved in the use of fireworks and the great distress they cause to the elderly and those living alone. Motor Neurone Collection taken up recently amounted to £337.85. Thank you to everyone who contributed. Ballyliffin/Urris FÁS: Workers required - Interviews will take place on Nov. 7.
