The second Sacrament, which Jesus showed
us, was Marriage. At the wedding feast in Cana, Jesus blessed Marriage
in a special way by His first Miracle. When He turned water into wine
He let it be known that He was full of God's authority and that He shared
in God's glory. Did you know? Wine is made from fermented fruit juice.
Most wine is made from grapes. White wine come from green grapes while
red wine comes from red or black grapes. In Jesus' time most people
drank wine as part of their daily diet. Wine was always used during
religious ceremonies. During the Middle Ages grapevines were commonly
found in Ireland and England. With changes in our climate grapes are
no longer common and wine made from Irish grapes is rare.
