The harvest is rich but there are few labourers to
help. This Sunday we should pray for those who have to suffer for
their faith. In our own country and all over the world there are people
who are persecuted because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus warned
His followers that it would not be easy to be His friend. The Holy
Spirit gives us courage to stand up for what is right. The peace of
Christ which we celebrate today should leave its mark on us so that
we become messengers of peace all around us. Father, the harvest is
great at the moment and the labourers are few, please send more workers
into your field and help those who are working there already to persevere
in their calling.
Just for To-day: Most of us have some regrets about
the past. We could have done better and now we feel guilty. Fair enough.
But all we need to do is to say "Sorry-Please forgive me." We ask
forgiveness of our friends and we ask forgiveness of God. And don't
forget that when God forgives, he forgets.
For Yesterday is but a dream
And To-morrow is only a vision
But To-day well lived makes every
Yesterday a Dream of Happiness
And every To-morrow a Vision of Hope
Look well therefore to This Day
