Clonmany Weekly Bulletin
Sunday 22th July 2001
St. Mary's Church, Clonmany.
St. Michael's Church, Urris.
Fr. Jack Farrell, P.P., Tel. 76264.
Fr. Peter Devlin, C.C., Tel. 76114.
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he entered a village and a woman called Martha welcomed him to her house. She had a sister called Mary who sat at the Lord's feet to listen to his words. Martha, meanwhile, was busy with all the serving and finally she said: 'Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the serving'. I am sure now that Jesus, the most sensitive human being ever born, would have extraordinary insights into the different characters of these two women. I am equally sure that he would have recognised the fact that, by each of their different ways of being, each was living out of her own authenticity, and that, I think, is all that each of us is asked to do.
