Clonmany
Weekly Bulletin
Sunday 11th November 2001 St. Mary's Church, Clonmany. St. Michael's Church, Urris. Oratory, Ballyliffin. Fr. Jack Farrell, P.P., Tel. 76264. Fr. Peter Devlin, C.C., Tel. 76114. November - a month of gloom, wedged between autumn
abundance and Christmas joy: gnarled branches, bare, fields empty;
street-lights struggling in the mist; reluctant mornings; nature asleep;
sombre liturgy about the Last Things - not finality, but with the
firm hope for an everlasting spring. Life is fragile. Cain thought
that death was the final solution; so did every other petty murderer,
tyrant, dictator, fanatic down through the millenia. The seven brothers
with their mother in Maccabees astounded their torturers, scorning
death. The Christians martyrs were victorious with the very same hope
of resurrection. Times of Masses, Confessions and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament St. Mary’s Church:
