Clonmany
Weekly Bulletin
Sunday November 25th 2001 St. Mary's Church, Clonmany. St. Michael's Church, Urris. Oratory, Ballyliffin. Fr. Jack Farrell, P.P., Tel. 76264. Fr. Peter Devlin, C.C., Tel. 76114. Remember Me - Today we celebrate Christ our anointed
King who overcame suffering and death and so brought us out of darkness
into his kingdom of light. As our Gospel brings up to that first Good
Friday scene, we see a king who remembers. While a long memory can
have a negative twist, what a joy it is to be remembered! To know
that you have a hallowed place in another's memory is a great blessing.
After all it was what one dying companion asked of Jesus: not a favour,
he asked just to be remembered: 'Jesus, remember me when you come
into your kingdom' (Luke 23:42). The response of Jesus; 'Today you
will be with me in paradise,' tells us what kind of king we follow.
