The Sheepdog Trials ran for two days, once in 1968 due to the National Dog Trials, which took place that year in Charlie coyle's field and the following year in Pollan Green. Entries for the trials were so big that the 'Confined to Clonmany' and the 'Confined the Donegal' took place on the Friday and the Junior Run had to be held on the Saturday. Dogs from all over Ireland came to the show in practice for the National Dog Trials.
